Bluewater Resort & Marina is a Spinnaker Resorts timeshare at 10 Bluewater Marina Drive, on Skull Creek at the north end of Hilton Head Island. Skull Creek is part of the Intracoastal Waterway, and Bluewater is the only timeshare resort on the island with its own dock on it. Weeks are rented as well as owned.
It is one of six Spinnaker resorts on the island; the others are listed on Spinnaker Resorts on Hilton Head. Two of the north end’s best-known waterfront restaurants, Hudson’s and the Skull Creek Boathouse, are a short walk or drive away.
The Units
The units are Key West-style villas with full kitchens (granite counters and a breakfast bar), a washer and dryer, a living and dining area, and a balcony. Each bedroom has its own bath, and some bedrooms open onto their own balcony. Layouts: one bedroom and one bath (sleeps four), two bedrooms and two baths (sleeps six), and three bedrooms and three baths (sleeps eight). The buildings have elevators.
The Dock and Skull Creek
The dock is the reason to pick Bluewater. Guests fish from it, take out the resort’s single and double kayaks, and watch the sunset over the water; boaters can tie up there. Pinckney Island National Wildlife Refuge is directly across the creek. A covered pavilion on the water has grills and seating. For guided paddles, see kayaking on Hilton Head.
Pools and Things to Do
The feature pool has a lazy river, a hot tub and a kids’ splash pad, and there is a second outdoor pool with its own hot tub. The activities center has an indoor pool, a sauna, a fitness room, a lounge and a games room. Outside are a sport court for basketball, pickleball, volleyball and badminton, a mini-golf course, shuffleboard, bocce, outdoor ping-pong and chess, barbecue grills and two EV chargers. Guests get golf privileges at the Golden Bear Golf Club in Indigo Run and the Country Club of Hilton Head.
Checking In
Check-in is at 4 PM. The front desk on site is open 8 AM to 8 PM Monday to Saturday and until 10 PM on Sunday. Arrive later and you check in at the S.R Hotel, Spinnaker’s 24-hour desk at 35 Deallyon Avenue on the south end, so plan the drive if your flight lands late.
Not to Be Confused With
Bluewater Adventure is a boat tour company at Shelter Cove, and the Bluewater bait and tackle shop is at South Beach Marina in Sea Pines. Neither is part of this resort.
