The Plaza at Shelter Cove, Hilton Head

The Plaza at Shelter Cove Shopping Center is a single row of shops at 50 Shelter Cove Lane, separate from Shelter Cove Towne Centre, with its own directory, though most people treat the two as one trip. T.J. Maxx is the big store. Outside Hilton Head, the island outfitter that runs kayak and boat trips from the harbour, has its clothing and gear shop here, with kayaks stacked out front. The Plaza used to have a Whole Foods Market. It has closed, so for groceries go to Kroger at the Towne Centre, or see our Hilton Head grocery stores guide.

Tiffany Nails Spa, in Suite M, is a nail salon open seven days, with online booking. F45 Training runs group workouts in Suites N and O, and Optical Solutions, an optometry practice with a second office near the hospital, does eye exams and sells frames from Suite G. There is a Bank of America ATM here too.

Two restaurants belong to the Plaza. Giuseppi’s makes Pittsburgh-style pizza and pasta, and Hilton Head Tavern is the sports bar, with rows of TVs and arcade games. The Towne Centre’s shops start about a quarter of a mile away: Belk, Kroger, lululemon and the island boutiques, with the park and the Saturday market behind them. The harbour, with its boat trips, shops and waterfront restaurants, is across Shelter Cove Lane from the Towne Centre. Our Shelter Cove guide covers the whole district.

The Plaza is at 50 Shelter Cove Lane, off William Hilton Parkway at the middle of the island, with its own parking lot in front of the shops. Like the rest of Shelter Cove it has no gate. Each business keeps its own hours.
