About Country Club of Hilton Head
Rees Jones laid this course out in 1986 across rolling terrain, pine and oak woodlands, and freshwater ponds and marshland along historic Skull Creek — a routing with three doglegs, two par-5s over 575 yards, and what club materials describe as the only punch-bowl-shaped green in the area. The signature hole is the par-5 12th, which plays over the highest point on Hilton Head Island — 28.24 feet above sea level — with views out over the Intracoastal Waterway. The course was chosen as a local qualifying site for the 1999 and 2005 U.S. Open.
