Shopping on Hilton Head Island

Where to shop on Hilton Head: the resort villages, the shopping centers, the outlets in Bluffton and the island’s best stores.

Shopping on Hilton Head blends relaxed coastal style with a few polished retail corners. Most of it is in the island’s open-air centers and resort villages, where boutiques, beachwear shops, gift stores and galleries sit beside restaurants. For brand-name outlets you cross the bridge to Bluffton, and for the everyday errands there are plenty of stores mid-island.

Shopping Centers and Villages

The three best-known places to shop are Harbour Town, the marina village in Sea Pines with coastal boutiques, apparel and gift shops; Shelter Cove Towne Centre, the mid-island center with national retailers, boutiques and waterfront restaurants; and Coligny Plaza, the lively open-air plaza by Coligny Beach with beachwear, souvenir shops and casual dining. Sea Pines Center covers the resort’s own shops. Beyond the resorts, neighborhood centers such as Port Royal Plaza, The Village at Wexford and The Fresh Market Shoppes are where locals shop, and carry the independent boutiques. South Island Square, on William Hilton Parkway, and The Village Exchange, on Palmetto Bay Road, are smaller centers.
