RV Resorts and Campgrounds on Hilton Head Island

Hilton Head has two RV resorts on the island, at the north end and off Arrow Road, and a third with Hilton Head in its name across the bridges in Bluffton. There is no public tent campground on the island.
Hilton Head RV Resorts at a Glance
The three RV resorts below cover every RV park most travelers mean when they search for Hilton Head. Each card opens our page on that resort, with its address, photos and reviews.

Hilton Head Harbor RV Resort & Marina: 200 full-hookup sites, a 101-slip marina with fuel, two pools and Sunset Grille at the island's north end.

The Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort at 133 Arrow Road, SC: 401 gated motorcoach sites about a mile from the beach. Motorcoaches only, no trailers.

Hilton Head National RV Resort is in Bluffton, not on the island: full hookups, a lazy-river pool and a dog park at 36 Hilton Head National Drive.
RV Parks and Campgrounds on Hilton Head Island, SC
RV camping on Hilton Head is a small part of the island’s lodging: two RV resorts, and no campground for tents. An RV resort here means paved or concrete pads, full hookups, a pool and a clubhouse rather than a wooded campsite. The island’s other places to stay are in the where-to-stay guide.
If you are searching for an RV park on Hilton Head Island, SC, or for Hilton Head campgrounds more generally, the three resorts on this page are the answer, and the sections below explain each one and what to do if you would rather pitch a tent.
RV Resorts on Hilton Head Island, SC: Which One Fits
Picking an HHI RV Resort
Hilton Head Harbor RV Resort & Marina
Best if: You want to be on the water, or you tow a boat, and you are happy with the north end of the island.
Watch for: It is the farthest RV resort from the south-end beaches.
Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort
Best if: You drive a Class A or Class C motorcoach and want a gated resort about a mile from the beach.
Watch for: No trailers or fifth wheels.
Hilton Head National RV Resort
Best if: You want full hookups on every site, a lazy-river pool and the highest ratings of the three.
Watch for: It is in Bluffton. The beaches are a drive across the bridges.
Hilton Head Harbor RV Resort & Marina, on the North End
Hilton Head Harbor is the island’s RV resort for every kind of rig: 200 sites with 30/50-amp hookups at 43 Jenkins Island Road, just past the bridges, with a 101-slip marina, two pools and Sunset Grille on the water. Many people spell it Harbour, but it is nowhere near Harbour Town in Sea Pines. Our Hilton Head Harbor RV Resort & Marina page has the sites, the marina and the booking details.
Hilton Head Motorcoach RV Resort on Arrow Road
The Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort is at 133 Arrow Road: 401 individually owned sites in a gated resort about a mile from the beach, with a pool, tennis and pickleball courts and a dog park. It takes motorcoaches only, Class A and Class C, and no trailers. Guests do not have to own a site; the resort rents owners’ sites through its booking system. Our Motorcoach Resort page has the details.
Hilton Head National RV Resort (It Is in Bluffton)
Hilton Head National RV Resort is not on Hilton Head Island. It is at 36 Hilton Head National Drive in Bluffton, on the mainland, and the name is why so many people think it is on the island. Every site has full hookups, and the resort has a pool with a lazy river, a clubhouse and a dog park. It is rated 4.8 stars on Google, the highest of the three. See the Hilton Head National RV Resort page, and the Bluffton campgrounds guide for the other parks on that side.
Golf Near the RV Resorts
Hilton Head National Golf Club is on the same road as the Bluffton resort, and the island’s courses are in the golf course guide.
Is There a Sea Pines RV Resort, Campground or Harbor Town Campground?
No. Sea Pines has no campground and no RV resort, and neither does Harbour Town, its marina district. The searches for a Sea Pines RV resort and campground mostly find Sea Pines RV Resort & Campground, a campground in Swainton, New Jersey, near Cape May. It shares a name with the Hilton Head community and nothing else. If you want to stay in Sea Pines itself, that means a villa, a home or a resort, all in the where-to-stay guide.
Hilton Head Island Campgrounds and RV Parks on the Beach
No campground or RV park sits on the beach. The nearest thing to RV parking at the beach is a few metered spaces at Driessen Beach Park on Bradley Beach Road, open 6 AM to 9 PM for the day. To be near the sand, the Motorcoach Resort on Arrow Road is about a mile from it; see the beaches guide for the rest.
Camping Near Hilton Head Island: Campgrounds Near Hilton Head, SC
The nearest campgrounds are on the mainland. In Bluffton, Stoney Crest Plantation Campground is on May River Road, and two RV resorts, Lake Jasper and Savannah Lakes, are a short drive west in Hardeeville. The Bluffton campgrounds guide covers what each has.
Hilton Head Island Tent Camping and South Carolina Campgrounds
The island has no public tent campground, so tent camping near Hilton Head means leaving the island. Hunting Island State Park, near Beaufort, is the best-known campground in the area and is more than an hour’s drive from the island; Skidaway Island State Park, near Savannah, is the other state park with camping within reach. Reserve through each park’s own site and check current availability.
Best RV Resorts Near Hilton Head in South Carolina
For a full-hookup RV resort, the three above are the ones people mean, and the two Hardeeville resorts are the alternatives on the mainland. If you are still deciding where to base yourself, start with the where-to-stay guide.
