This Sea Pines map shows the southern tip of Hilton Head Island the way you actually move through it: in at one of two gates, then along a few main roads to Harbour Town, the beach, South Beach and the Forest Preserve. It is a map of Sea Pines, Hilton Head Island, drawn from the Town’s own shoreline survey and OpenStreetMap, with north at the top, distances to scale, and a numbered pin for each place most visitors are trying to find.

The pins are numbered from the gates at the north-east end toward South Beach at the south-west tip. The brass pins are the two gates and the Welcome Center, where passes are sold and picked up. The dashed line is the edge of Sea Pines, and everything inside it is behind the gates. Pale green is golf, and the darker green block is the Forest Preserve. Tower Beach, the community association’s owners-only beach facility on South Sea Pines Drive, has no pin, because no source we could check gives its exact position.

Getting Into Sea Pines: Gates and Passes

Two gates sell passes. The Greenwood Gate is the main entrance, on Greenwood Drive a short way past the Sea Pines Circle; stay in the right-hand lane if you need to buy one. The Ocean Gate is at the end of South Forest Beach Drive, where the road becomes North Sea Pines Drive, which makes it the nearer gate from Coligny and the Forest Beach hotels. Both sell day and weekly passes from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. A day pass for a car is $10, and day visitors cannot come in on a bicycle.

Resort guests check in at the Sea Pines Welcome Center, on Greenwood Drive before the main gate, and collect their passes there. Guests of property owners pick up reserved passes at the drive-through window at the back of the same building, which is the community association’s guest pass office.

Getting Around Sea Pines

Three roads do most of the work. Greenwood Drive runs the whole length of Sea Pines from the main gate, past the Forest Preserve and Lawton Stables, to the junction where North and South Sea Pines Drive meet. North Sea Pines Drive comes in from the Ocean Gate along the ocean side, past the turn for the Beach Club, and South Sea Pines Drive carries on from that junction to South Beach. Lighthouse Road leaves North Sea Pines Drive near the Beach Club and runs past Sea Pines Center to Harbour Town, and Plantation Drive leaves Greenwood Drive at Lawton Stables and runs down to the Stoney-Baynard Ruins. Parking along the roads is not allowed anywhere in Sea Pines, so plan on lots.

In summer the community association runs the Sea Pines trolley, a complimentary service on three routes, and every route stops at Sea Pines Center. The Blue Route runs between Harbour Town and the Beach Club, the Green Route between Harbour Town and South Beach, and the Red Route from the Greenwood Drive trolley stop to Harbour Town by way of Lawton Stables. The 2026 season ran from May 16 to September 7, with the Blue Route from 9 a.m., the Green from 10 a.m. and the Red from 4 p.m., all until 10 p.m. The Red Route also runs on the evenings of November 27 and December 23, 2026, and all three run late on New Year’s Eve.
