Ask for the total monthly cost, not just the rent. Most complexes add an application fee, an administration fee and a deposit, plus monthly fees for pets, parking or services: Pointe Grand’s $199 package covers fiber internet, trash pickup, pest control and liability insurance, and comes on every lease. At Pointe Grand, ask which building you would move into, when it opens and what will still be under construction around it, since buildings open in turn.
If you work on the island, try the drive at rush hour before you sign. From Hardeeville the only way onto Hilton Head is US 278 through Bluffton and over the bridges, and Exit 8 adds a few more miles to that.
