This Palmetto Dunes map shows the resort the way you move through it: in at the Queens Folly Road entrance, along Ocean Lane to the hotels and the beach, and out to the three golf courses. It is a map of Palmetto Dunes on Hilton Head Island, drawn from the Town’s own shoreline survey and OpenStreetMap, with north at the top, distances to scale, and a numbered pin for each place most visitors are trying to find. Pale green is golf and blue is the lagoon system.
The gates are not pinned. We could not confirm which gate is which from a source we trust, so use the pass office pin, in brass, and the Palmetto Dunes guide for how the gates and passes work. The Leamington Lighthouse is pinned at the west end of the map, inside the Leamington gate. Tap a pin to find it in the key, or print the page and the key prints with it.
Palmetto Dunes Bike Trails and Paths
Paths link the villas, the courses and the beach, and most of them run alongside the lagoons. The map leaves them off to keep it readable. Bikes are the way to get around, since personal golf carts are not allowed in the resort. Hilton Head Outfitters, at 80 Queens Folly Road, is the resort’s bike and beach shop.
Getting In and Getting Around
Palmetto Dunes is gated, and most visitors pick up a pass at the PDPOA pass office at 16 Queens Folly Road before driving in. In summer the resort runs the Dunes Buggy, a courtesy shuttle. Hotel guests, renters, golfers and diners each have a slightly different way in, and the Palmetto Dunes guide covers them all.
