When you send a question through Ask a Local or email us, we receive your message, the email address you give us, and the page you were on. We use it to answer you. If you start a question and leave before adding an email address, the question still reaches us so we can see what visitors are asking, but we have no way to reply.

Like most websites, HHI.com uses analytics tools to understand how the site is used, so we can fix what is broken and write the guides people are looking for.

• Google Analytics records the pages you view, how you arrived, your device and browser type, and your approximate location (city level).
• Microsoft Clarity records how visitors click, scroll and move through pages, including session replays and heatmaps, so we can spot confusing layouts.
• Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for security and reliability.

These tools use cookies and similar browser storage. The site also uses your browser’s storage for small conveniences, like keeping an Ask a Local conversation open as you move between pages.

Many pages include booking tools, maps, videos and links run by other companies, such as activity and tour booking through FareHarbor, tee times, restaurant reservations, vacation rentals, Google Maps, YouTube and Facebook videos, and real estate search at homes.hhi.com. When you use one of these, that company may collect information and set its own cookies under its own privacy policy. Payment details you enter in a booking tool go to that company, not to HHI.com.

Some links and booking buttons on HHI.com are affiliate links. If you book through one, the company may pay HHI.com a commission, and it may use a cookie or link code to know the booking came from us. This does not change the price you pay. We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that run the site for us (hosting, analytics and email), when the law requires it, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business.

• You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them.
• Google offers a browser add-on that stops Google Analytics from recording your visits.
• To ask what we hold about you, or to have a message you sent us deleted, email info@HHI.com.

We keep messages for as long as we need them to answer you and keep a record of the conversation. Analytics data is kept under the retention settings of each analytics tool.

HHI.com is a general travel guide and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If we change how the site handles information, we will update this page and the effective date at the top.
