Mitchelville Place is a 4.5-acre property at 170 Dillon Road on the north end of the island. It runs two ways: guests can rent the house through Airbnb, and couples and groups can book the grounds for weddings and other events. The lawn and outdoor dining areas are set up for photo sessions and gatherings.
The name is easy to mix up. Historic Mitchelville Freedom Park, the Civil War-era freedman's town site, is next door, and Fish Haul Beach Park, formerly Mitchelville Beach Park, is less than half a mile away. Mitchelville Place is neither: it is a private rental and venue.
