Coral Sands is a villa resort at 66 Pope Avenue, on the south end of Hilton Head Island near Coligny Beach and Coligny Plaza. It belongs to Palmera Vacation Club, the club whose members stay on points, and is one of six Palmera properties on the island.

Palmera’s other resorts include Coral Reef and Port O’Call inside Shipyard, Island Links in Port Royal and Palmera Inn & Suites on Park Lane. Coral Sands is not inside Shipyard: the 66 Pope Avenue front desk is also where Coral Reef guests check in.

The Villas at Coral Sands

The resort offers one-, two- and three-bedroom villas. Each has a full kitchen, a washer and dryer, several TVs, and a balcony or patio. Reviewers call the units spacious, clean and updated; one described the one-bedroom building as very clean, and a few found the beds or the bathroom fittings worth mentioning.

Pools and Amenities

The pool area is the draw: a lazy river with tropical theming, a zero-entry pool, a splash pad and a hot tub, with a bar and restaurant beside the pool. There is a fitness center, Wi-Fi and a concierge. Parking gets tight in the evening.

Walking to Coligny Beach

The beach is about a ten-minute walk, and a free trolley runs guests there if they would rather ride. Coligny Plaza is within walking distance for dinner, ice cream and shopping.

Coral Sands North

Coral Sands North by Palmera is a second location that carries the Coral Sands name. We could not confirm a street address for it: Google lists it in Hilton Head Island with no address or phone of its own, and its stays are booked through a separate booking site rather than the main Coral Sands one. Golf and Tennis for Owners

Owners pay only cart fees for daily golf at Shipyard Golf Club and Port Royal, and they get tennis time at the Van Der Meer center. See tennis on Hilton Head for the courts.
