Shipyard Golf Hilton Head Island SC Overview

Shipyard Golf Club is one of the island’s oldest courses — 27 holes across three distinct nines, Clipper, Galleon, and Brigantine, combined in pairs for an 18-hole round. Two of the three, Clipper and Galleon, opened in 1970 as George Cobb designs; Willard C. Byrd’s Brigantine followed in 1982. The Three Nines

Clipper
George W. Cobb · 1970
Par 36 · 3,499 yards (Gold)

One of Shipyard’s most demanding nines — long-game pressure, well-placed hazards, and large, well-bunkered greens.

Galleon
George W. Cobb · 1970
Par 36 · 3,379 yards (Gold)

One of Shipyard’s two original nines, moving through large oaks and tall pines for a classic Hilton Head test.

Brigantine
Willard C. Byrd · 1982
Par 36 · 3,356 yards (Gold)

The shortest of the three nines, with lagoons, slight doglegs, and a premium on accuracy over length.
