Hilton Head Social Bakery

Hilton Head Social Bakery is a French bakery at Shelter Cove Harbour, at 17 Harbourside Lane in Building 1, a few steps from the marina. It is owned by Chef Philippe Feret, who was born in France, was a pastry chef at Taillevent in Paris and worked in New York at Windows on the World, Tavern on the Green and the Regency Hotel. The bakery says everything is all-natural and made from scratch daily.

What to Order at Hilton Head Social Bakery

Croissants and brioche are the morning order, and the case also holds tarts, mousse cakes, eclairs and other desserts that reviewers say are hard to find elsewhere on the island. There is quiche and other lunch items, and the coffee gets its own praise. A few things are gluten free, including raspberry and chocolate macarons and the Chocolate Bluff cake. Specialty cakes can be ordered in flavors such as chocolate pistachio, hazelnut, salted caramel and strawberries and cream. Use the menu button above for the current list.

Seating, Views and Parking

There is seating inside and outdoor tables on the harbour side, and reviewers rank the marina view among the best breakfast views on the island. It is closed Monday and Tuesday. A reviewer notes there is no parking right at the bakery, so allow a few minutes to park in the harbour and walk over.
