Spring Lake Tennis, Hilton Head Plantation
Spring Lake Racquet Club is Hilton Head Plantation’s own tennis club, with 12 Har-Tru clay courts and four bocce courts beside the lake. It runs round robins, adult and junior clinics, leagues and social events for tennis and pickleball, bocce leagues, and a summer camp for juniors, and it has added Spec Tennis, played with a paddle on a smaller court. The club hosts USTA-sanctioned tournaments, and in 2025 it hosted the Junior Special Olympics tennis tournament.
Play is by membership, with individual, couple and family options. Residents can join, and so can people who live outside the gate, as long as a Hilton Head Plantation resident sponsors them. Spring Lake Pool and Lazy River
The pool, built in 2016, is the part of Spring Lake most people talk about. It has a zero-depth entry that slopes in like a beach, palm trees that pour water into it, a lazy river, and a splash pad for small children, with umbrellas over the seating and cabanas along the deck. It opens on April 1 and closes on October 31. Lifeguards are on duty at the busiest times, and lap swimmers get the pool to themselves early in the day.
Residents who review it call it the best pool on the island and single out the lazy river. They also mention a clean deck, plenty of chairs and friendly staff.
The Spring Lake Pavilion
The pavilion looks out over Spring Lake itself, and alligators sometimes cruise past below the deck. It has a full kitchen, a sound system, a fire pit and a tiered deck, with a fitness studio for residents. Residents can rent it for a party or a wedding rehearsal, with the lake as the backdrop.
Who Can Use Spring Lake
Spring Lake belongs to the property owners. The pool is for owners, their families and guests, and tenants on leases of nine months or more, and everyone shows the association’s photo ID to use it. Each household also gets two house guest cards for visitors. Tenants on shorter leases don’t get the photo ID, so they can use Spring Lake only with the owner.
The gate can issue a one-day pass to Spring Lake for someone with a reason to be there, such as a match with a member or a booked event at the pavilion. Getting to Spring Lake
Spring Lake is at 231 Seabrook Drive, in the western half of the plantation. Seabrook Drive is the road that comes in through the Cypress Gate, near Squire Pope Road. The Plantation House, the association’s clubhouse with a kitchen, a bar and a library upstairs, is next door. Both are pin 4 on the Hilton Head Plantation map.
