The Bower is a new rental neighborhood on 40 acres off US 278, on the Jasper County side of Okatie at the western edge of Bluffton. Every home is built to rent, not to sell: 266 one-bedroom cottages, townhomes and three-bedroom houses, from the Charleston developer Green Room Partners and the investment firm Henderson Park. Building started in spring 2026.
The Homes
The plans run from one-bedroom cottages to three-bedroom houses, in board-and-batten and lap siding in soft blues, grays and white. About three in four homes come with a private garage, and the ground-floor homes have their own fenced yards. In most of the detached houses the main bedroom is on the first floor.
The Clubhouse and Grounds
A clubhouse in the middle of the neighborhood will hold a fitness center, a co-working space, a library, a community kitchen and a lounge. Outside are a pool with a cabana, an outdoor kitchen and bar, grills, pickleball courts, a putting green, a fire pit, a dog park and walking trails that link the streets around a central green.
When You Can Move In
The first homes are due to open from late 2026, in phases, with the clubhouse, pool and the rest of the amenities due in July 2027. Rents and a leasing office have not been announced yet. Getting Around
