Sumo Sushi & Hibachi
Sumo Sushi & Hibachi is a small sushi and hibachi restaurant on William Hilton Parkway, on the north side of the island, in the space where Fancy Q Sushi used to be. It opened in early 2026, and one regular says the food matches the owners’ other restaurants. Its Google rating is already one of the highest among the island’s Japanese restaurants.
What to Order
The menu is short: sushi rolls on one side and hibachi plates on the other. Reviewers name the Sumo, Tiger and Godzilla rolls, hibachi chicken, a teriyaki chicken rice stir fry and pan-fried pork dumplings, and they keep mentioning the prices, which feel low for the quality. Takeout is easy, which suits a night in at the rental.
If you want the hibachi show, with a chef cooking at your table, OKKO on Mathews Drive is the island’s hibachi-grill restaurant; the Hilton Head hibachi page lists them all, and the sushi and Asian restaurants list covers the rest of the island’s Japanese food.
