What to Order at Olive & Fig

The menu starts with mezze such as hummus, baba ghanoush and stuffed grape leaves, and moves on to warm pita wraps filled with grilled meat, falafel or halloumi, fresh salads, kebab platters and vegetarian dishes. Reviewers single out the shawarma, the gyro platter, the lamb shish kabob and the baked olive and fig flatbread, and one raved about the red snapper over rice. The hummus is creamy, the grape leaves come with lemon and mint, and the gluten-free pita is one reviewers say is the best they have had. Finish with Arabic coffee or a house-made dessert.

The dining room fills up, and the restaurant recommends reservations for every table. Call (843) 707-1934 to book; a 20 percent gratuity is added for parties of six or more. It is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and closed Sunday. For takeout, call in your pickup order. There is a full bar with beer and wine, and a few tables outside the storefront.

Getting There

Olive & Fig is in Moss Creek Village, the first shopping center after the bridges on Fording Island Road (US 278), near the Moss Creek community. The mailing address says Hilton Head Island, but the restaurant is on the mainland, between the island and Bluffton.
