What to Order at Good Soul

Start with the fried chicken, which the restaurant calls the best on the island and reviewers back up, crisp outside and juicy inside. Aunt Hattie’s seafood rice, with shrimp, crawfish, crab and conch, is the other dish people name most, and the pork chops, short ribs, fried catfish and stewed okra and tomatoes all get praise. Sides run to collard greens, mac and cheese, candied yams and Brussels sprouts. Portions are generous.
