Halloween on Hilton Head Island is a family season rather than one big night. The Island Recreation Center fills Shelter Cove Community Park with pumpkins for its free Pumpkin Patch, and Shelter Cove Towne Centre hosts Trunk-O-Ween, where car-club cars line the street with trunks full of candy. Sea Pines runs Halloween wagon rides through the Forest Preserve, and churches and schools hold trick-or-treat trails and fall festivals in the last week of October.

Island Rec Pumpkin Patch

Shelter Cove Community Park, 39 Shelter Cove Lane
The Island Recreation Center's free family evening: pumpkins to pick, games and bounce houses, with a Halloween costume contest at 5:45 p.m. A train ride, a rock wall and concessions cost extra.
Trunk-O-Ween
Late October, with the Motoring Festival. The merchants have not posted a 2026 date
Shelter Cove Towne Centre, 40 Shelter Cove Lane
A free family event run by the Towne Centre merchants and the Hilton Head Island Motoring Festival. Car Club Showcase cars line Towne Centre Drive with their trunks open and full of candy, and costumed children go from trunk to trunk and shop to shop. There is a decorated-trunk contest, bounce houses, seasonal music and Cappy the Clown.
Halloween Wagon Ride
Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026
Heritage Farm, 185 Greenwood Drive, Sea Pines
Climb on a red wagon for a spooky ride around the Sea Pines Forest Preserve, with Halloween games along the way. Costumes are encouraged. Reservations are required; $22 for adults and $20 for children 12 and under.

Sea Pines events for 2026: Gregg Russell concerts, the Shrimp Festival, Harbour Town Fall Fest, the Forest Preserve Bonfire and holiday shows.
Church and school events
Island churches hold trick-or-treat trails and trunk-or-treats in the last week of October, and the island's schools run fall festivals with games, costume contests and haunted houses. Each posts its own date and hours, usually a week or two before. Check the church's website or the school's newsletter.
