The Carolina Tasting Room is a wine tasting room in Coligny Plaza that pours only wine from the Carolinas, more than 50 of them, from dry reds and whites to sweet fruit wines and wines made from muscadine grapes. It also stocks local beer, mead and moonshine. It is a shop and bar, not a restaurant, and it is open every day.
Tastings and Wine Slushies
A flight of six tastings costs a few dollars, and it is free if you buy a bottle; the staff are known for explaining what you are drinking and steering you toward something you will like. The other reason people come is the wine slushies, frozen wine drinks in a long list of flavors that you can take away and carry around the plaza. There are two non-alcoholic slushie flavors for children, and you must be 21 for everything else.
