The Wreck of the Salty Dog is closed. It shut in 2024 for the South Beach Marina Village renovation, and its building is part of the rebuild. No reopening has been announced. We will update this page if it comes back.
The Wreck of the Salty Dog Hilton Head was a casual waterfront seafood restaurant at South Beach Marina, in Sea Pines, and the overflow spot for the Salty Dog Cafe. It was part of the same family of businesses but had its own identity, which is why people still search for the Wreck of the Salty Dog Hilton Head Island by name.
The South Beach Marina Renovation
The renovation covers about one acre of the marina village, including the Wreck’s building, and the plans shrink the buildings’ footprint and add a drop-off area. The south side of the property, with the Salty Dog Cafe, is not part of the work, and the cafe, its ice cream and T-shirt shops stay open.
