The Harbour Town Pier is the covered pier that runs out over the Harbour Town Yacht Basin, next to the lighthouse and the Quarterdeck restaurant in Sea Pines. It is free to walk once you are inside Sea Pines, it is open every day, and it is where people go to watch the boats come and go, look for dolphins in the basin, and take the sunset photo with Calibogue Sound behind them.

What to Do on the Harbour Town Pier, Hilton Head
The pier is for slowing down. Walk out to the covered end, sit in the shade and watch the harbour: sailboats and cruise boats heading out to the Sound, yachts easing into their slips, and, often enough, dolphins in the water. With the lighthouse right beside it, it is one of the most photographed spots in Harbour Town, especially around sunset.

Rebuilt After Hurricane Matthew
Hurricane Matthew hit Hilton Head in October 2016, and the Harbour Town Pier stayed closed for more than a year. It reopened in 2018, rebuilt with a new look. The resort also books the pier for private events such as receptions, so now and then part of it may be set up for a party.
Getting to the Harbour Town Pier, Hilton Head Island
Harbour Town is at the southern end of Sea Pines, a gated community. Unless you own property there, are a resort guest or have a Sea Pines rental reservation, you pay a gate fee to drive in: $10 per day for a standard vehicle. Park in the Harbour Town lot and walk toward the lighthouse; the pier is by the Quarterdeck. The pier itself costs nothing.
