The South Beach General Store at South Beach Marina

The South Beach General Store is the convenience store at South Beach Marina, at the southern tip of Sea Pines. It is one of the Salty Dog’s shops, in the red-fronted building with “General Store” painted across the top, a short walk from the Salty Dog Cafe.

What the General Store Sells

Half of it is the basics for a beach week: groceries and snacks, personal-care items, and beer and wine. The other half is for fun: beach gear and games, gag gifts and island souvenirs, and plenty aimed at children. If you are staying at the south end of Sea Pines, it saves a drive back out through the gate for a forgotten toothbrush or a bottle of sunscreen.

Hours

It is open every day from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., early enough for breakfast basics and late enough to catch after dinner at the marina.

The Other Shops at South Beach Marina

The Salty Dog runs several shops around the marina. The Salty Dog T-Shirt Shop sells the Salty Dog shirts, Jake’s Cargo sells gifts and souvenirs, and the Salty Dog Ice Cream Shop does what it says. The marina is being redeveloped, and some businesses have moved around, but the General Store is staying where it is.

Getting There

South Beach Marina is at 232 South Sea Pines Drive, inside the Sea Pines gate. Unless you own property there, are a resort guest or have a Sea Pines rental booking, the gate fee is $10 per day for a standard vehicle.
