Tower Beach, Hilton Head is a small beach facility near the southern tip of Sea Pines, tucked under the big blue water tower on South Sea Pines Drive. People call it the Sea Pines Tower Beach Club, and the “club” in that name leads some visitors to mix it up with the resort’s Beach Club. They are different places for different people.

Tower Beach belongs to the community association (the CSA), and it is kept for Sea Pines property owners and the guests they bring with them. If you are visiting for the day or renting for the week, this page is mostly here to point you to the beach you can use instead.

Who Can Use Tower Beach

The CSA’s rule is short: Sea Pines property owners and their accompanied guests. To drive in, an owner needs their property owner ID card, a car with a valid owner decal, or an owner vehicle pass, and the entrance is staffed to keep the lot for the people it is meant for. A day pass from the Sea Pines gate does not cover it.

If you are renting. “Accompanied” is the word to notice. A weekly rental is not the same as coming along with the owner, and rental listings near South Beach sometimes mention Tower Beach as if it came with the house. Ask your rental company before you count on it. Most rentals in this corner of Sea Pines are a short walk or bike ride from a beach path anyway.

None of this changes who owns the sand. As on every South Carolina beach, the beach itself is public below the high-water mark, so you can walk past Tower Beach along the shore. What is private is the lot, the boardwalk and the pavilion.

What Is at Tower Beach

The facility was completed in 2014 and is set up for a long day on the sand. There are outdoor grills and picnic tables, a shaded pavilion, restrooms, water fountains and an outdoor shower, and a boardwalk that runs from the facility straight onto the beach. There is no restaurant, no chair service and no shop; for those, go to the Beach Club.

Owners can reserve an all-terrain beach wheelchair, kept under the pavilion by the locker area. It stays at Tower Beach and cannot be taken to another access point.

For Sea Pines Owners: Pavilion and Lockers

Owners can rent the pavilion for a gathering, first come, first served, for a $50 fee for the pavilion alone. Beach lockers are leased by the year on a three-year term, at $250 a year, and there is a waitlist. Both are booked through the CSA’s maintenance department. Prices as of September 2026; check with the CSA before you plan around them.

Tower Beach, the Beach Club or South Beach?

If you are not a Sea Pines owner, you have two good choices. The Sea Pines Beach Club is the full-service beach, with dining, chair service, restrooms and showers. Its parking is held for owners and resort guests during the day in season, so check that page before you drive over. South Beach is the beach at the very tip of the island, a short walk from the restaurants of the marina village.

For owners, Tower Beach is the simpler choice of the three: a parking lot, grills, shade and a boardwalk, and no restaurant or chair service to plan around.
