Nell’s Harbour Shop in Harbour Town

Nell’s Harbour Shop is a gift shop in the Harbour Town shops, at 149 Lighthouse Road in Sea Pines. You will know it by the hand-painted sign at the door: the red-and-white lighthouse with a sailboat in front of it. The shop bills itself as the island’s oldest gift store.

What Nell’s Sells

It is a general gift shop with a coastal lean: jewelry, prints and artwork, flags and cards, kites, home gifts and a large stock of Tervis cups. It also carries women’s clothing and a few named labels: Vendula handbags, Mary Rose Young’s hand-painted bowls and vases, and Hello Mello lounge wear. If you are looking for one thing to take home that is not a T-shirt, this is a good shop to start in.

Before You Go

The shop closes at 5 p.m., two hours before the resort’s own shops, so it is a daytime stop rather than an after-dinner one. Its reviews split cleanly: people like what is on the shelves and are less happy with how they were treated, including being told not to handle the more expensive bags. Ask before you pick one up.

Getting There

Harbour Town is at the south end of Sea Pines, behind a gate. Unless you own property there, are a resort guest or have a Sea Pines rental booking, the gate fee is $10 per day for a standard vehicle.
