Turtle Lane, Hilton Head: Oceanside Villas at Turtle Lane Club

- Area: Plantation, at 1 Beach Lagoon Road
- Homes: villas, townhomes and tower flats
- Bedrooms: three or four
- Pools: two, shared
Turtle Lane Club is a small, gated group of villas, townhomes and oceanfront tower flats in the Plantation area of Sea Pines, at 1 Beach Lagoon Road. The Sea Pines resort calls it “ultra-private”: the beach is a short walk on a private path for the people who stay here, and two pools are on the grounds. Turtle Lane Club, Hilton Head, suits a group that wants three or four bedrooms and the beach without a drive.
It is one of the villa and home rentals in Sea Pines we cover.
The Homes
The group has four kinds of home, and which one you book decides how close the water is:
Oceanfront tower flats. The East and West Towers are five-story buildings with underground parking and an elevator. The flats have three or four bedrooms; the top-floor four-bedroom is listed as sleeping nine.
Oceanfront townhomes. A row of larger townhomes with three bedrooms, one listed as sleeping eight, with a back deck that opens toward the beach.
Pool villas. Three-bedroom, three-bath villas in the second row from the ocean.
Lagoon villas. Three-bedroom, three-bath homes in the third row, with a view of the lagoon and a balcony in back. The resort’s listing for one of these runs to 1,786 square feet.
The resort’s own listings for units here ran from about $250 to $1,300 a night before taxes and fees, with the oceanfront flats at the top of that range. None of the resort’s units allowed pets. If you need to avoid stairs, ask for a tower flat: the resort lists a building elevator there.
On Site and Nearby
Two pools shared by everyone staying in the group. The resort marks complex pools closed from October to April, with the decks open.
A private path from the group to the Atlantic. Owners describe it as a very short boardwalk, so the beach is a walk with no road to cross.
The Sea Pines Beach Club: a listing for one top-floor flat describes a walk to the Beach Club and the trolley station.
Bikes for the resort’s paths: see Sea Pines bike rentals.
