South Beach Club is a small complex of beachfront villas at 251 South Sea Pines Drive, Hilton Head Island, SC, at the very south end of Sea Pines. The buildings face the point where the Atlantic turns into Calibogue Sound, so the views run across both, with Daufuskie Island on the far side of the sound.

It is not the Sea Pines Beach Club, the resort's beach facility near the middle of Sea Pines. South Beach Club is a place to stay; the Beach Club is a place to spend a beach day.

The Villas

The villas are large: three and four bedrooms, from about 1,900 square feet to nearly 4,000 in the biggest. The ones the resort rents are three-bedroom, three-bath homes with beach and ocean views, on floors from the first to the third, and a building elevator serves the upper floors. Third-floor villas look west over the sound, which is where the sunsets are.

There is a complex pool, and parking is covered. Pets are not allowed in the villas the resort rents; other owners set their own rules.

Location

The beach is right in front of the buildings, and South Beach Marina Village is a short stroll away: the marina, the shops, the Salty Dog Cafe and the bike and boat rentals. That walk is the reason most people pick this end of Sea Pines. Harbour Town is a longer trip, by bike, car or the seasonal Sea Pines trolley.

Booking South Beach Club

South Beach Club villas are owned one by one, and short-term rentals are allowed. They are rented by several companies, including Destination Vacation Hilton Head, Island Time Hilton Head, The Sea Pines Resort and The Vacation Company. The resort's own program has only a few of them, so most bookings go through other companies. Pet rules and minimum stays are set by each owner. Sea Pines is gated, and every booking comes with a pass: whoever you book with arranges it ahead of your stay. The Sea Pines rentals page explains passes and what booking through the resort adds.
