Brickyard Pub is the bar and grill in the Shipyard Golf Club clubhouse at 45 Shipyard Drive, inside the Shipyard community on the south end of Hilton Head Island. It is a casual pub with a long bar inside and a covered patio outside that looks across the course to a lagoon, open every day from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The menu is pub food with a Lowcountry streak. Starters include fried green tomatoes with a warm tomato-bacon jam and goat cheese, bacon-wrapped shrimp, pimento cheese with house-made chips, soft pretzels with a Guinness cheddar beer sauce, flatbreads, BBQ pork nachos and wings by the six, dozen or 36. The main list runs to fish and chips in a Guinness batter, fish or shrimp tacos, a blackened cod sandwich, a Guinness brat, pulled pork and a row of burgers, among them the Brickyard Burger with pimento cheese and a fried green tomato. There is a kids menu, and chili and a soup of the day come by the cup or bowl. The pub notes there are no substitutions, and parties of six or more have a 20% gratuity added.

Happy Hour and Weekly Specials

Happy hour runs daily from 4 to 7 p.m., with lower prices on most of the appetizers and the wings, draught beer, and house wines and well drinks. Since the pub closes at 7, happy hour is the last three hours of the day, and it is when the patio fills up after the final rounds come in. Two nights a week have a special from 3 p.m. to close: burger night on Wednesdays, when a burger comes with a side, and a fish fry on Fridays, with Guinness-battered cod and fries.

Visiting Brickyard Pub in Shipyard

The clubhouse is inside the Shipyard gate, but you do not need to be playing golf or staying in Shipyard to eat here. Tell the gate officer you are going to Shipyard Golf Club and you will be given a day pass for the drive to the clubhouse and back. The pass covers the club only, not the beach or the rest of the community. Sit on the patio if the weather allows: it is shaded, and alligators sometimes sun themselves on the bank of the lagoon below.
