Port Royal Golf Club is Port Royal Golf & Racquet Club on the north end of Hilton Head Island, just outside the gate of Port Royal Plantation, so you don’t need a gate pass to play or eat. It has two 18-hole courses, Barony and Robber’s Row, and both sell public tee times. The club is run by Heritage Golf Group. Port Royal Golf Courses: Barony and Robber’s Row
Barony is the older, tree-lined course, a George W. Cobb design that opened in the early 1960s and rewards accuracy over power. Robber’s Row was built by Cobb and Willard Byrd in 1967 and redesigned by Pete Dye in 1994. Each course has its own page with a scorecard, ratings and a handicap calculator.

Beyond the two courses, the club has a practice loop of three holes (a par 3, a par 4 and a par 5), tennis and pickleball courts, and Robber’s Row Grille for food. The clubhouse address is 10 Clubhouse Drive, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928.
Every fall the club’s fairways host the island’s biggest car show, the Hilton Head Concours d’Elegance & Motoring Festival, with a Car Club Showcase on the Saturday and the judged Concours on the Sunday.

Reviewers think well of the courses: greens described as consistent, fairways in good condition, and the setting praised more than once. Service is where they diverge sharply — one reviewer describes staff going well out of their way, another found the starter unwelcoming, and a third was told mid-round in 99-degree heat that the drinks cart had finished for the day. Two mention conditions on the day, aeration and a closed range, which is an argument for a phone call before a long drive.
