About The Golf Club at Indigo Run
The Golf Club at Indigo Run opened in 1995, co-designed by Jack Nicklaus and his son, Jack Nicklaus II — the first signature course credited to a father-and-son design team, drawing inspiration from Golden Age courses like Pine Valley and Augusta National. Golf Digest named it one of the nation’s Top Ten New Private Courses in 1996, and it’s recognized locally as the last championship golf course built on the barrier island of Hilton Head. It’s a separate club from Golden Bear Golf Club, which also sits inside Indigo Run but is a distinct, separately-branded course.

The Golf Club at Indigo Run Reviews
Indigo Run averages 4.6. The clearest signal from reviewers is that the renovation landed: the new greens draw repeated praise and reviewers who played after the work describe the course as fantastic. Greens, bunkers and fairways are reported in good shape, though one golfer found the tee boxes and rough noticeably behind the rest. The restaurant and Sunday brunch come up nearly as often as the Jack Nicklaus layout. The club also runs weddings and events, and the one sharply negative review we saw was about event enquiries going unanswered rather than about golf.
