Which Palmetto Dunes Golf Course to Play
The Robert Trent Jones Oceanfront Course is the one to play if you can only play one. It opened in 1967, plays 7,005 yards from the back tees, and is the only course on the island where a hole runs along the Atlantic, the par-5 10th. Its fairways are wide and its greens generous, which makes it the most forgiving of the three.
The George Fazio Course is the shot-maker’s test: a par 70 with no par-5s and the highest slope of the three, 145. It rewards keeping the ball in play more than length. The Arthur Hills Course is the shortest, at 6,651 yards, with rolling ground and lagoon views, and it is where the resort’s golf academy is based. A group of mixed abilities usually has the easiest day at Robert Trent Jones.
Palmetto Dunes Golf Tee Times
Palmetto Dunes tee times are booked online, each course from its own page, and the resort says its best rates are online only. The Arthur Hills and George Fazio courses offer nine-hole rounds, priced lower after 2 p.m. Robert Trent Jones is an 18-hole course only. Guests in a resort-managed rental get up to 15 percent off golf with the resort’s amenity card.
