Junior Players Golf Academy on Hilton Head Island

The Junior Players Golf Academy calls itself a boutique golf academy, and it is a different kind of program from the resort camps around the island: a full-time school for junior golfers, based on Hilton Head Island with a second location in Orlando. Junior Golf Academy Programs

The core program is a nine-month full-time academy, with a post-graduate or gap-year program alongside it. For shorter stays it runs summer camps, spring break camps, holiday camps, and a UK invitational camp. The academy also offers college consultation, and says its players compete in AJGA, Optimist, and Hurricane Junior Golf Tour events.

Training, Fitness, and School

Training uses TrackMan and the V1 video coaching system, and fitness work follows a Titleist Performance Institute program combined with cardio. Academics run through partner schools, which the academy says have a 100 percent college acceptance rate. Boarding students live in cottages near the beach with supervision and house parents, as the academy describes it.

Full-Time Academy or Camp?

The choice depends on the goal. A camp or a week of clinics suits a junior who is trying golf or improving over a vacation. The resort programs are a good fit for that, at the Sea Pines Golf Learning Center and the Palmetto Dunes Golf Academy. A full-time academy is a commitment for a player working toward college golf.
