LoCo Fly Charters, Hilton Head

An angler holding a redfish on a LoCo Fly Charters trip

Fly-fishing and light-tackle trips for one or two anglers with Captain Mark Nutting, sight-fishing redfish on the flats.

  • Captain: Mark Nutting
  • Boat: 17-foot Maverick HPX-S, 6-inch draft
  • Group: 1 or 2 anglers
  • Trips: 4, 6 or 8 hours
  • Launch: Pinckney Island boat landing

LoCo Fly Charters is the island's fly-fishing specialist. Captain Mark Nutting poles a 17-foot Maverick HPX-S that draws six inches of water, so he can sight-fish redfish and trout in marsh and flats water that a bigger boat can't reach. Anglers say he coaches casting and keeps fishing in all kinds of conditions. The boat takes a maximum of two anglers, and trips are catch and release.
