St. Francis Thrift Shop at Southwood Park
The St. Francis Thrift Shop is an outreach ministry of the St. Francis parish. It sits at 6 Southwood Park Drive and is staffed by more than 260 volunteers who sort, price and display everything that comes in. Its proceeds go to charitable organizations and to St. Francis Catholic School’s community programs.
It has some of the better hours among the island’s volunteer shops: Tuesday to Friday, noon to 4 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is closed Sunday and Monday.
What You Will Find
Clothing racks sorted by men’s, women’s and shoes, scarves, belts and hats, and a large furniture floor of sofas, chairs, lamps, mirrors and bookcases. Locals who live on the island say they check in weekly for furniture and decor. The shop gets busy and the parking lot fills on busy days, so go early in the afternoon.
Donating Furniture and Clothing
Donations are accepted Tuesday to Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the rear entrance only, and volunteers help unload your car. Drop-off hours are earlier than shopping hours, so you can drop off in the morning and come back to browse.
