Rainmaker Fishing Charters is run by Captain Tim from the North End Charter Fleet dock on Hudson Road, directly behind Skull Creek Dockside. The Rainmaker II is licensed for up to six guests, and a smaller Hewes inshore boat takes two anglers on backwater trips from October to April. Trips run from a three-hour shark outing to a Gulf Stream day, and the captain will also take a family out for a sunset dolphin ride with no rods. Trips and Rates

  • Inshore and nearshore: 3 hours for $580 (mostly sharks), 4 hours for $740 or 5 hours for $925, for bull reds, tarpon, other sport fish and sharks depending on the season.

  • Backwater inshore: 4 to 6 hours, $600 to $800, on the Hewes, for red drum, speckled trout and flounder. Two guests at most, October through April.

  • Offshore: 5 hours for $925 on the close reefs, 6 hours for $1,200 at the artificial reefs 5 to 20 miles out, a 10-hour bottom trip for $1,850 and a 14 to 16-hour Gulf Stream run for $2,960.

  • Sunset and dolphin outings: a family cruise past local wildlife, or a ride to a waterfront bar.

Finding the Dock

The charter fleet dock is behind Skull Creek Dockside at 2 Hudson Road, with a large parking lot in front. Three restaurants stand beside it, and all three will cook your catch; the captain fillets your fish at the dock first.
