Happy Travelers is a family-owned company that rents baby gear and beach gear to families visiting Hilton Head and Bluffton. You pick what you need and your dates online, and it is delivered to your vacation rental, hotel or the airport at the start of your stay and collected when you leave. Delivery is free, and every item is cleaned and sanitized between rentals. The owners started it after traveling with their own babies, so the idea is simple: leave the crib and the stroller at home.

What You Can Rent

• Sleep: a Graco Pack n Play, a full-size crib or a mini crib with mattress and sheet, a SNOO bassinet, a Newton travel crib, a SlumberPod, blackout curtains, sound machines, a baby monitor, bed rails and an inflatable toddler bed.

• Strollers: an UPPAbaby Vista V2, a Baby Jogger City Tour 2, single and double jogging strollers, wagon strollers that seat up to four, and a hip-seat carrier.

• Eating: high chairs from Chicco and Dream on Me, booster seats, bottle warmers, a Baby Brezza bottle washer, nursing pillows and a plate, cup and utensil set.

• Bath and changing: a baby tub, a changing table, a potty seat and a step stool.

• Play: bouncers, a swing, an activity center, play mats, toy and book bundles, and baby gates.

• Beach and pool: beach chairs, an 8-foot umbrella, a Shibumi shade, a pop-up tent, a beach wagon, a cooler, towels, boogie boards, Coast Guard-approved Puddle Jumpers, baby floats, beach toys and lawn games such as Spikeball, bocce and ladder toss.

• Extras: grocery pickup before you arrive, and Pampers or Huggies diapers to buy.

Prices depend on the item and how many days you rent it, and most items start under $10. If you need something that isn't listed, ask: the company will look into adding it.

Set Up Before You Arrive

Happy Travelers works with many of the island's vacation rental companies, which give it a one-time door code so the crib or high chair can be set up before you get there. Vrbo and Airbnb stays usually can't be entered early, so for those the company arranges a time to meet you after you arrive. If something breaks during your stay, call and it will be swapped out.
