Lean Ensemble Theater is a nonprofit professional theater company that performs at the Main Street Theatre, 3000 Main Street, on Hilton Head Island. Where the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina leans toward musicals, Lean Ensemble stages contemporary plays in a smaller room, often with a talkback after the show.
Now Playing: Primary Trust
The 2026-27 season opens with Primary Trust by Eboni Booth, the 2024 Pulitzer Prize winner for drama, directed by Jeffrey Marc Alkins and running October 30 to November 8, 2026. It follows Kenneth, a bookstore employee who likes his routine and has to reinvent himself when his workplace closes. Four actors perform it: Malik J. Ali, Ryan Cooper, Kayland Jordan and Calvin M. Thompson. Post-show talkbacks are on October 31 and on November 1, 6 and 8.
Showtimes and Tickets
Shows are at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday, and the doors open 30 minutes early. Buy through OvationTix on the theater’s site, where online sales close two hours before curtain, or call the box office at (843) 715-6676, open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday except on production weekends. On performance days the box office opens 30 minutes before the show, and rush tickets are sold there at that time. The company sells season tickets, preview-night subscriptions and three flex packages, and takes group, military, teacher and student discounts by phone. All sales are final; subscribers and flex-package holders can exchange for another date.
