The Cypress Hilton Head: Living There
The Cypress of Hilton Head is a life plan community, the newer name for a continuing care retirement community, at the north end of the island. Its 100 acres sit inside Hilton Head Plantation, behind the plantation’s gates, around lagoons and walking trails. Residents have a clubhouse with its own dining, three private golf holes and a full calendar of activities and wellness programs, and the community looks after the maintenance of homes and grounds.

The Preston Health Center, on Birdsong Way within the campus, is The Cypress’s 58-bed health center. It gives long-term care, skilled nursing and short-term rehab, and The Dogwood, a 12-room neighborhood for memory care. Residents of The Cypress come first, and Preston also admits people from outside the community.
