Keith Funeral Home on Hilton Head Island

Keith Funeral and Cremation Services is a small, family-owned funeral home on Arrow Road, near Sea Pines Circle at the south end of the island. Jim and Susan Keith, both licensed funeral directors, opened it in January 2016 in a building they renovated, after 17 years with a family of funeral homes in Wilmington, Delaware. The two of them answer the phone themselves, 24 hours a day, so a family calling at night talks to a funeral director rather than an answering service.

It arranges traditional funerals with visitation, graveside and memorial services, burials and cremation, with its own crematory on Arrow Road, and helps veterans’ families with military honors. The chapel is small and suits an intimate gathering; larger services are usually held at a church or a club, and the Keiths will run a service at any venue. They will come to your home to make the arrangements, or meet after hours, at weekends or at short notice.

Prices and Planning Ahead

Its published price for a direct cremation is $2,740. That covers bringing your loved one into its care, a basic container, the cremation and a temporary urn. Every other service is priced item by item, life-insurance assignments are accepted with no processing fee, and a pre-need plan can be paid for now or simply written down.
