The Island’s Hometown Bank
Coastal States Bank opened on Hilton Head in 2004 as the only locally owned bank in southern Beaufort County, and it is still headquartered here, at 5 Bow Circle off Arrow Road. It has two island branches, Bow Circle and Main Street, and two in Bluffton, and since 2017 it has grown into Savannah, Beaufort and metro Atlanta. Banks Open on Saturday
Most island branches are open Monday to Friday only, usually 9 to 5. Four open on Saturday morning: both TD Bank branches (New Orleans Road and William Hilton Parkway, 9 to 1), Wells Fargo on Mathews Drive (9 to 2) and Bank of America on Hatton Place (9 to 2). TD also stays open until 6 on Thursday and Friday, and Truist at Wexford until 6 on Friday. Every branch is closed on Sunday.
Is There a Credit Union on Hilton Head?
No. No credit union has a branch on Hilton Head Island. The nearest is CPM Federal Credit Union at Buckwalter Place in Bluffton, about 20 minutes past the bridges. Members of national credit unions such as Navy Federal bank by app and at partner ATMs; the closest Navy Federal branch is at Parris Island, open only to those with base access.

ATMs and Banking for Visitors
Most branches have an ATM, and several have a drive-up ATM, so cash is easy to find on either end of the island. Mid-island, the only branch is PNC at Shelter Cove Towne Centre, where Bank of America also has an ATM. If you lose a debit card on vacation, TD Bank can print a replacement at the branch for its own customers, and any branch of your own bank can help with a wire for a closing. Most island businesses take cards; carry some cash for tips, farm stands and the occasional cash-only shop.
