Both lobbies are open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Main Street has a drive-thru on the same hours. Both are closed on weekends.

The Island’s Hometown Bank

Its founders opened Coastal States Bank on Hilton Head in 2004 as the only locally owned bank in southern Beaufort County, and it grew to four branches here and in Bluffton. After new investors recapitalized it in 2017, it expanded to Beaufort, Savannah and metro Atlanta, and it now runs 11 branches from its Bow Circle headquarters. Its holding company, CoastalSouth Bancshares, also based on the island, listed on the New York Stock Exchange as COSO in July 2025, with about $2.2 billion in assets.

Beyond everyday checking and savings, the bank lends nationally in a few specialties, including government-guaranteed small-business loans, marine lending and senior housing.
