Goodwill in Bluffton means two stores, both run by Palmetto Goodwill, the nonprofit behind the Goodwill shops in this corner of South Carolina. The bigger and busier of the two is at 509 Island West Park, off US 278 on the west side of town, and it is open every day: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday. The second, which Goodwill calls its South Bluffton store, is at 4 Godfrey Place, a few minutes from Old Town and the nearer of the two to the bridges from Hilton Head. It is a bright, open store with long racks of clothes sorted by size, and its sign also advertises a donation drive-thru and a career center. Goodwill’s own site and Google list different hours for this store, so call (843) 949-4555 before a special trip.

Both stores are the Goodwill most people know: racks of women’s, men’s and children’s clothing and shoes, then aisles of housewares, glassware, small appliances, toys, books and media, with furniture and lamps at Island West Park. Stock turns over daily, so regulars go often.
