The Palmetto Animal League Thrift Store is the charity shop of Palmetto Animal League, a nonprofit animal rescue whose adoption center and vet clinic are in Okatie. It is the league’s only thrift store, and every sale helps pay for rescue and shelter, adoptions and medical care for cats and dogs. The shop is at 1 Sherington Drive, Suite B, a short walk from Sheridan Park.
Stock comes in daily and changes fast: furniture, home decor and artwork, kitchenware and glassware, antiques, jewelry and accessories, pet supplies, and women’s and men’s clothing It is smaller than the Goodwill stores, and a good first stop if you are furnishing a room on a budget. Donating to Palmetto Animal League Thrift
Donations are taken Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.: drive behind the building and ring the bell, and a staff member will help unload. The store gladly takes furniture, home goods and decor, artwork, kitchenware and glassware, antiques, linens, jewelry and clothing. It cannot take box springs or mattresses (unless new and still wrapped), large appliances such as refrigerators, washers and freezers, or large entertainment centers.
For a big piece of furniture, PAL offers free pickup: request a week on its site and the staff will call to set a day and time. That makes it an easy home for furniture from a vacation rental refresh.
