Flooring Stores in Bluffton, SC

A showroom such as Old Town Flooring, Nix Flooring & Design or Coastal Floor lets you handle the samples, compare grades side by side and see the cabinets and tile next to the floor. Top Quality Flooring and Floor Coverings International bring samples to the house, which shows how a color looks in your own light and next to your furniture.

Either way, ask who installs. Nix Flooring & Design says its in-house team does the work, and Top Quality Flooring says the same team that gives the estimate does the installation.

Waterproof luxury vinyl plank (LVP) is the product most of these companies lead with, and LVP flooring in Bluffton is what Old Town Flooring, Coastal Floor, Exact Flooring and Top Quality Flooring all install or sell: Old Town Flooring advertises waterproof vinyl plank for Bluffton homes, Coastal Floor and Exact Flooring both stock waterproof luxury vinyl, and Top Quality Flooring sells 52 vinyl plank colors. Tile is the usual choice for bathrooms and showers, and Old Town Flooring, Nix Flooring & Design and Exact Flooring all do bathroom and shower remodels.

Hardwood is the choice when you want a floor that can be sanded and refinished later; Old Town Flooring and May River Flooring Company both refinish hardwood. Ask the installer about the subfloor and moisture in your house before you pick a product.

Five companies on this page sell carpet and put it down, so you can buy carpet in Bluffton from a showroom or at home. Old Town Flooring has its own carpet installation page and says its in-house installers do the work, with nylon and wool among the carpets it sells. Coastal Floor and Exact Flooring stock carpet in their showrooms, and May River Flooring Company lists carpet among its products. Floor Coverings International and Top Quality Flooring bring carpet samples to the house, and a Floor Coverings International customer describes padding options to walk on before choosing.

Ask for the carpet, the pad and the labor as separate lines on the estimate, and ask who moves the furniture. One Exact Flooring customer reports a carpet install with bubbles and a torn hole, so look at the seams and the stretch before the crew leaves. Once the carpet is down, our carpet cleaning in Bluffton page lists the companies that clean it.

A backsplash is tile work, so start with the tile companies on this page. Nix Flooring & Design lists a backsplash as an option on the kitchen remodel cost estimator on its website, and does kitchen and bathroom remodels with its own installation team. Old Town Flooring says its in-house installers tile kitchens and bathrooms, from a kitchen near Old Town Bluffton to a bathroom on Hilton Head. Coastal Floor sells glass tile, metal tile and natural stone, the materials most backsplashes use, and Exact Flooring sells glass tile and does tile and shower work.

Not every flooring company takes a backsplash-only job, so ask when you call whether they will install one without a floor or a remodel. Ask for the tile, the labor, the grout and the removal of the old backsplash on separate lines, and whether the quote includes the outlet covers and trim. For a whole kitchen, see kitchen remodeling in Bluffton.

For flooring in Okatie, SC, Exact Flooring is in the town itself, at Okatie Center, and Floor Coverings International’s address is a few minutes from it. Old Town Flooring and May River Flooring Company both list Okatie among the towns they serve.

For flooring in Hardeeville, SC, Old Town Flooring, Floor Coverings International and Exact Flooring each name Hardeeville on their own sites. In a straight line, Exact Flooring is about 8 miles from Hardeeville City Hall (205 Main St), Floor Coverings International about 8 miles and Old Town Flooring about 13. Top Quality Flooring and Floor Coverings International come to you, so ask whether they charge for the drive.

For tile installation in Ridgeland, Old Town Flooring lists Ridgeland and does its tile with in-house installers; it is about 17 miles in a straight line from Ridgeland Town Hall (1 Town Sq). It also lists Port Royal and Beaufort, so the same crew covers the length of the county.

Often, if the boards are solid wood and thick enough to sand. Old Town Flooring lists hardwood refinishing from sanding to staining, and May River Flooring Company refinishes hardwood and restored a set of solid walnut floors after pet damage. A refinish cannot always fix gaps between boards: one Top Quality Flooring customer says the filler came back out of the gaps in their red pine floors after sanding, and that replacing them would have been the better choice. Ask the company to look at the floor first, and whether replacement is the better option.

The product is only part of the price. Square footage, removing and hauling the old floor, repairing or leveling the subfloor, stairs, trim and baseboards, and moving furniture all change the quote. One Exact Flooring customer paid extra to have furniture moved and put back, so ask whether that is included.

Ask for the written estimate to list the product, the labor and each extra line. Top Quality Flooring gives a written estimate before work begins, and Coastal Floor and Exact Flooring both offer financing. For a bathroom, check what is in the scope: one Exact Flooring customer found a glass shower wall was not part of the tile job.
