Golfmaster is a villa complex at 1 Gloucester Road, near the entrance to Shipyard on Hilton Head Island. It was built in two phases, townhomes in one and two-story buildings of flats in the other, and it has its own pool, tennis and pickleball courts and a basketball court. Villas look over lagoons and the Clipper nine of Shipyard Golf Club.

The Villas
Villas have two or three bedrooms and full kitchens with open floor plans, in roughly 1,550 to 2,050 square feet, and some have a screened porch. Golfmaster is a quiet part of Shipyard, and many owners live here year-round alongside the rental villas.
Location
Golfmaster is near the Shipyard entrance rather than the beach end of Shipyard Drive. Leisure trails run from the complex to the Shipyard Beach Club, a bike ride away, and Coligny Plaza is a short drive out through the Pope Avenue gate.
Booking Golfmaster
Villas are owned one by one and rented by companies including Hilton Head Rentals and Sunset Rentals, and some are also on Vrbo. Pets are permitted in the complex, but each owner sets the rules for a rental, so check the listing. Shipyard is gated. Whoever you book with authorizes a pass for your stay, which you pick up at the Pope Avenue gate or the US 278 gate. Staying inside the gate also gives you use of the Shipyard Beach Club.
