Tennismaster is a complex of two- and three-bedroom townhomes at 100 Shipyard Drive, in the middle of Shipyard on Hilton Head, a few minutes’ walk from the Van der Meer tennis center. Screened porches and decks look over the golf course and its lagoons, and there is a community pool.
It is one of the Shipyard rentals we cover, and the obvious choice for a tennis week: the courts are a few minutes’ walk away. Shipyard’s other “-master” complexes are Shipmaster, Golfmaster and Sailmaster.
The Townhomes
The townhomes are two stories. Two-bedroom units have two and a half baths and three-bedroom units three and a half, each with a full kitchen and dining area, and most have a screened porch or patio. The complex pool has an outdoor shower.
Location
Van der Meer is a few minutes’ walk away, with lessons, clinics and court time (the courts and the island’s others are in our Hilton Head tennis guide). The beach is about a ten-minute walk or a short bike ride, on a path that runs past the Sonesta Resort to the Shipyard Beach Club, and the Pope Avenue gate and Coligny Plaza are close.
Booking Tennismaster
Townhomes are owned one by one and rented by several companies, including Hilton Head Properties & Rentals, Hilton Head Rentals, Host & Home, Sunset Rentals and The Vacation Company, and many are also on Vrbo. Pet rules differ from unit to unit, so check the listing. Shipyard is gated. Whoever you book with authorizes a pass for your stay, which you pick up at the Pope Avenue gate or the US 278 gate. Staying inside the gate also gives you use of the Shipyard Beach Club.
