Windward Village is a villa complex on Windward Village Drive, off Cordillo Parkway just inside the Pope Avenue gate of Shipyard on Hilton Head Island, past the Townhouse Tennis villas. Its villas range from one-bedroom flats to two-bedroom townhouses, most with large screened decks, set around a community pool and spa.
It is one of the Shipyard rentals we cover, and a handy base for Coligny Plaza’s shops and restaurants, which are just outside the gate.
The Villas
Flats have one bedroom and one and a half baths in about 800 square feet. Townhouses have two bedrooms and two and a half baths in up to about 1,230 square feet, and some have two primary suites. Views are of the pool, the lagoons or the fairways. Parking is at the curb, with carports at some units.
Location
Windward Village is at the Pope Avenue end of Shipyard, so Coligny Plaza and Coligny Beach Park are just outside the gate. The Shipyard Beach Club, which guests staying inside the gate can use, is at the far end of Shipyard Drive, a bike ride across the community past Shipyard Golf Club.
Booking Windward Village
Villas are owned one by one. Companies renting them include Hilton Head Rentals, and some are also on Vrbo. Each owner sets the pet rules and the minimum stay, so check the listing. Shipyard is gated. Whoever you book with authorizes a pass for your stay, which you pick up at the Pope Avenue gate or the US 278 gate. Staying inside the gate also gives you use of the Shipyard Beach Club.
