Beachwalk is a complex of 113 villas at 125 Shipyard Drive, Hilton Head Island, SC, at the end of the road inside Shipyard’s Pope Avenue gate. It sits across the street from the Sonesta Resort and the Van der Meer tennis center, which makes it the closest of Shipyard’s villa complexes to the beach: the Shipyard Beach Club is a five- to seven-minute walk down a paved, shaded path.

The Villas
Beachwalk has one-, two- and three-bedroom villas, some laid out as single-floor flats and some as two-story townhouses. They have lots of windows, some have skylights, and there are sundecks outside. The buildings away from the pool are set along the golf course and its lagoons, several of them looking down the sixth fairway of the Galleon nine.
There are no elevators. Upper-floor villas are reached by outside stairs, which is worth knowing if anyone in your group has trouble with them. Parking is at the curb in front of each building.
Location
Everything a beach week needs is within walking distance. The Beach Club is down the path, the tennis center is across the street, and Shipyard Golf Club runs behind the complex. For dinner without driving, Seacrest Restaurant & Terrace is across the road at the Sonesta, and Coligny Plaza is just outside the Pope Avenue gate.
Booking Beachwalk
Beachwalk villas are owned one by one, short-term rentals are allowed, and units are rented by several companies, including Hilton Head Rentals and Sunset Rentals. Many are also listed on Vrbo. Each owner sets the pet rules and the minimum stay, so check them on the listing. Shipyard is gated. Whoever you book with authorizes a pass for your stay, which you pick up at the Pope Avenue gate or the US 278 gate. Staying inside the gate also gives you use of the Shipyard Beach Club.
