Spark by Hilton Bluffton Hilton Head Island is the old Comfort Suites on Towne Drive, reopened under Spark, Hilton’s simple, lower-priced brand. Despite “Hilton Head Island” in the name, it is in Bluffton, on the mainland side of the bridges, on a side road just south of US 278.

That spot makes it a practical base: the highway to the island is right there, Old Town Bluffton is a short drive south, and the supermarkets and outlets along US 278 are close by. See our Bluffton guide for the town.

Rooms and Breakfast

The rooms were redone for the Spark brand in a bright, simple style, with a king bed or two beds, a desk and a TV. Breakfast is included and served in the lobby, where a coffee cart is set up, and Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel.

Pool, Fitness and Meeting Room

Out back is an outdoor pool with loungers and umbrellas, and inside there is a small fitness room and a meeting room that groups use for work sessions and wedding weekends.

Spark by Hilton Bluffton Reviews

Spark’s reviews split sharply. Many guests describe a clean, modern hotel that is good value, with welcoming front-desk staff, Andy in particular, and an easy base for a wedding weekend or a work trip. Others had a rough time: a digital key that would not work, a room that smelled, or, in one case, a booking that had been cancelled by the time the guest arrived late at night.
