Old Town Bluffton Inn is a small hotel in the middle of Old Town Bluffton. It stands on May River Road among the galleries, cottages and restaurants of the historic district, so a stay here means parking the car and walking: to dinner, to the shops on Calhoun Street and down to the May River. The building went up in 2019 in the style of the old river town, with white clapboard, deep porches and double French doors, and it is independently owned and run by a local couple, Vince and Danielle Harrison, who are often in the parlor to welcome guests.

The Rooms at Old Town Bluffton Inn

Each of the fourteen rooms is decorated differently, with French Heritage furniture and its own color scheme, from Parisian toile to Lowcountry birds. Nine are king rooms, and these open through French doors onto the shared verandas that run across the front and back of the building; the king rooms on the upper floors each have their own seating area out there. The other five rooms have two beds and sleep two, with a third guest allowed for a fee. Rooms come with L’Occitane toiletries, robes and slippers, a safe and a steamer, and an elevator serves all three floors.

Breakfast, the Pantry and the Parlor

Breakfast is included: the inn’s “Warm Southern Bites” spread of biscuits, sausage balls and egg dishes, with fruit, yogurt, granola and house-made pastries, served in the parlor. A pantry of snacks and drinks stays open around the clock. There is no restaurant, which in Old Town is no loss, since the town’s best-known restaurants are a few minutes’ walk away.

Good to Know Before You Book

The inn is for adults only and allows no pets, apart from service animals. There is no private parking; guests use the public parking around the hotel, including a public lot behind it. There is no pool either. Check-in runs from 3 to 7 pm (call ahead to arrive later), early check-in can only be requested on the day, and check-out is at 11 am. Standard-rate cancellations more than 48 hours out are refunded as a hotel credit rather than money back, and group bookings need the inn’s approval by phone.

Old Town Bluffton Inn Reviews

Guests single out the walkable location in the middle of Old Town, the welcome from the owners and staff, the beautifully decorated rooms and the breakfast and all-day snacks. Many were in town for a wedding or an anniversary. The one practical complaint is parking, since there is none on site.
